St. Blase Candle is used on Febuary 3, the feast of St. Blasé, the martyred Bishop of Sebaste in Armenia, reputed to have miraculously saved the life of a choking young boy. It is customary to bless the throats of the faithful on this day to preserve them from illnesses of the throat. Two 51% Beeswax candles customarily intertwined as one at the base as shown.
